Calories in vs. Calories Out?

Today, let’s talk about the old calories in vs. calories out equation. Because 3500 calories is equivalent to 1 pound of fat, you need to burn 3500 calories more than you take in to lose 1 pound. So, if you burn 500 calories more than you take in every day, you’ll lose about a pound per week. However, things don’t stay that simple. Once you lose about 10 percent of your body weight, your body becomes a more efficient engine. Consider it as being like going from an SUV to a motorcycle. As a result, you need to do more to burn the same number of calories. A good solution?

Move more to burn more calories . Strength training can be especially useful, because it helps build muscle (which burns more calories than fat). So, this fall don’t just head back to school- also make a commitment to get back to strength training!
